Tips for New Residents

Learn Spanish

Although English is spoken in tourist areas, knowing Spanish will make everyday life much easier.

Spanish Time

Spaniards eat late (lunch at 14-15, dinner at 21-22) and nap in the afternoon (siesta). Adjust to the rhythm!

Meet Neighbors

Spaniards are very sociable. Don't be surprised if a neighbor invites you for coffee or tapas!

Local Markets

Instead of supermarkets, visit local markets (mercado) - they're fresher and often cheaper.

Air Conditioning

Summer temperatures can exceed 40°C. Invest in air conditioning - it's not a luxury, it's a necessity!

Holidays

Spain has many national and local holidays. Check the calendar before planning visits!
